The Daily Gamecock

As someone with a painting background, I didn't see myself doing designs and layout for a newspaper, just as I didn't see myself doing comics for The Daily Gamecock. Yet, as it were, after doing comics for The Daily Gamecock for a semester, I applied to be a member of the design team and didn't get it because of my lack of experience. Then, I applied again after the spring semester and was selected to be Design Director. The following semester, I was chosen as Creative Director. Though I'm relatively new to this position, the experience I've gained within such a short time period has proven invaluable to me whether that be coming up with visuals for articles on the fly, designing layouts for the news magazine, or teaching new designers the components of graphic design, though I was just in their position mere months ago.
